Can a relative buy my house?
If you are in foreclosure, and you are selling your house pursuant to a short sale it is not permitted for a relative to buy your house. Further, if you are selling your house in a short sale transaction you will be required to move and may not live in the premises beyond the normal allowable post-closing move time. You will be asked to sign an affidavit at closing acknowledging all of this.
