A Short Sale Assistance Grant is made available to qualified homeowners who are behind on their payments and owe more on their home than it’s worth. A short sale can be a great way to get out from under an over mortgaged house and eliminate crippling debt. Expert negotiation with your lender(s) is critical to maximizing the benefits of a short sale. A Short Sale Assistance Grant provides funding to cover the legal fees for a designated law firm to negotiate with your lender(s) to get you the best possible outcome and terms. It’s critical to understand the debt forgiveness process and to make sure you receive any eligible benefits and incentives. Properties must be located within the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island and Westchester.
